Buhari Withdraws Ahmed Ibeto From List Of Ministerial Nominees

The President, Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday withdrew the name of Mr. Ahmed Ibeto of Niger State from the list of ministerial nominees.

President Buhari sent a letter to the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki notifying him of the withdrawal.

Mr Ahmed Musa Ibeto was the State Chairman of the National Republican Convention (NRC) Party in 1990 •

He was elected as the State Secretary of the National Republican Convention from 1990 -1992. •

Mr Ibeto was the State Secretary of the defunct United Nigeria Centre Party (UNCP), as well as the All Nigeria Peoples’ Party (ANPP) between 1995 to 1996 and 1998 to 1999.

He served as the Senior Special Assistant on Protocol Matters to the immediate past Governor of Niger State, from 1999 to 2003.

In 2003, he was the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Power and later Chairman, House Committee on States and Local Governments.

He was the Deputy Governor of Niger State from 2007 – 2015.

Mr Ibeto was among the 21 nominees sent September 30, 2015.

  1. I really don’t know why he was withdrawn. Was it as a result of what happened during the screening? did anything really happen there?
